Excitement Grows for Upcoming 75th Anniversary Celebration & Annual Family Medicine CME Weekend!

By Sarah Bigorowski, Director of Education

GAFP’s Annual Family Medicine CME Weekend is just a month away. We’ll be celebrating 75 years of accomplishments and advancements that have strengthened the practice of family medicine. Join us in Atlanta on November 10-12 to network with your peers, participate in valuable CME activities, and discover the latest products and services in the GAFP Social & Information Hub (also known as the Hub)!

Our annual meeting will kick off on the morning of Thursday, November 11 with a CME activity and the Social & Information Hub. The CME activities will include 1) an overview on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s children’s medical services, autism screenings, and home visiting programs and 2) a ‘Summer of Thrive’ debrief that will feature participants sharing the lessons they have learned to enhance their practice environments and optimizing their coding processes. The day will end with a welcome reception in the Hub – a great time to celebrate and connect with your peers and industry partners.

The Friday program will feature brief presentations from the top three research poster finalists and member interest group conversations on rural and hospital medicine, independent practice, obstetrics and more. On that Friday evening, we will welcome incoming GAFP President Sharon Rabinovitz, M.D., and we will honor this year’s GAFP award recipients with a night of dancing and friendship during the Diamond Jubilee President’s Celebration and Awards Dinner.

And don’t forget to spend time discovering new partners and technologies that bolster family medicine and boost productivity in the Hub.

Our annual meeting will conclude on Saturday, November 12 with a wrap up of CME topics as well tending to important work of GAFP’s Congress of Delegates. The Annual Family Medicine CME Weekend will offer up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The deadline to register online for the meeting is Sunday, October 30.
