Celebrating 11 Years of Community Health Grants and 75 Years of Family Medicine

In honor of celebrating 75 years of family medicine, Dr. Loy “Chip” Cowart and Aylo Health (Dr. Collyn Steele) have EACH generously offered to match end of year donations made to the Alliance between Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, 2022, up to $7,500 (potential $15,000 total).

This is a fantastic opportunity to have your end of year donation tripled!

Through the generous donations of Georgia Academy of Family Physician (GAFP) members, the Georgia Healthy Family Alliance (GHFA) has awarded 115 Community Health Grants in 11 years. That is $575,000 in vital, targeted health support changing lives throughout Georgia. These grants are sponsored, supported, and applied for by our GAFP members – like you – who see a health need in their community.

In addition to Community Health Grants, the Alliance has awarded 52 Immediate Needs Grants with a combined total of $52,000.

The Alliance also now has four active and thriving Tar Wars Strike Force regions and is on track to educate a minimum of 50,000 students in Georgia this school year on the dangers of tobacco, nicotine and vape products.

It takes a community to make positive change. Please join us as we make a difference in Georgia – one patient, one family, and one community at a time.

The Alliance appreciates your consideration of a meaningful donation. In honor of 75 years of family medicine, we are asking that the donation contain a “75” in the total ($75, $275, $750, etc). This gift will allow us to continue to serve the people of Georgia by enhancing their well-being through educational and outreach programs that promote healthy practices consistent with the principles of family medicine.
