The lecture, "Achieving Diabetes Excellence in primary care with registries and team work" was presented by Edward Shahady, MD during the GAFP's 2009 Annual Scientific Assembly & Exhibition.
The "Achieving Diabetes Excellence in primary care with registries and team work" presentation was developed to educate family physicians on clinical approaches that measure individual and practice achievement. This activity examines the opportunities to share information with clinicians, staff, and patients in an effort to achieve better diabetes control, reduce costs, and complications.
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Use diabetes registries to overcome the barriers to reaching standards of diabetes care
- Understand how to accomplish Diabetes standards of care in your office.
- Understand the metabolic defects in Diabetes and which medications address which defects
- Incorporate the above principles through case presentations
This activity is supported, in part, by an educational grant from APS Healthcare.
