The lecture, “Achieving Optimal Care Consistently on Clinical Performance that Matters,” was presented by George Rust, MD, MPH during the GAFP’s 59th Annual Scientific Assembly in November 2007. The presentation was designed for family physicians as an approach to prioritizing clinical practice performance measures that are in the best interest of our patients. The goal of the activity is to identify what clinical practices are valuable, set an achievable level of performance, and determine the best way to make those levels operational.

At the completion of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Understand evidence-based practice;
  • Discuss ways evidence-based practice improvements can be integrated into the family physician office; and
  • Understand the advantages of evidence-based medicine.
