Dr. Shannon has been selected as the delegate for the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians to the Medical Association of Georgia Congress of Delegates. He sat on the Medical Education and Telecommunications Committees of the Medical Association of Georgia and was on the Board of the Georgia Primary Care Network. He is a former president of the Physicians Group, Inc. He has served on the board of the Primary Care Network of Columbus and the Quality Health Partners, Inc. He was a founding partner of Horizon Physician Network, Inc. and Horizons Diagnostics, L.L.C. He has and served on the Board of both HPN and Horizons Diagnostics, L.L.C.

Dr. Shannon is a very good doctor. He is much too busy to take a lot of time with patients. There have been many added "requirements" to this office. Example, phone calls are now $25.00..If you need a prescription and the pharmacy calls, $25.00..refill or authorization. Have your needs ready when you visit the office ...refills, etc.
This office is now only associated with St. Francis Hospital. They dropped Medical Center and Doctor's Hospital.
He is still a good doctor in my estimation. His office combined with others are not taking new Medicare/plus supplemental insurance patients. What a shame.
